Ledger StarkEx Update

Ledger have released some updates (1.10.3 and 1.10.4) that will affect how you can interact with the rhino.fi app when using ledger.

The affected user cases are laid out below:

Metamask/Rabby users with a Ledger account

  • no impact, the 1.10.4 Ethereum app and 1.10.3 Ethereum StarkEx app have the same behaviour → blind signing tx if the setting is enabled

Ledger Native connection

  • 1.10.4 Ethereum app : tx can’t be signed anymore.
  • 1.10.3 Ethereum StarkEx app : exact same behaviour as before.

In order to ensure you have the best experience possible on rhino.fi we recommend installing the Ethereum Starkex app on your Ledger device and only use rhino.fi with the Ethereum Starkex app.

Before proceeding you must first enable developer mode. To enable developer mode, please head into Settings -> Experimental features -> toggle on "Developer mode". Once you have done this, you can go back into the "My Ledger" tab, and download the Ethereum StarkEx app.

Steps to install Ethereum Starkex app

  1. Open Ledger Live
  2. Go to "My Ledger" section

My Ledger

  1. Search for "Ethereum Starkex" (note, your Ethereum app on the ledger must be up to date in order to see this).
